Knyewtron Sightings

Wednesday, September 7 2011

Every now and then, you may come across an unsavory individual stealing rusty hubcaps in broad day light, rocking a fresh pair of Nikes & a crisp KNYEW t-shirt. You might witness a devious yet strangely ravishing, debonair gentlemen sporting a KNYEW tank top while being escorted out the Hardrock Hotel in handcuffs by LVPD (this actually happened). This person may be frightening to you. This person might be your real estate broker. This person might even be a family member of yours. Either way, there’s one thing for sure…this person is a “Knyewtron”. You may be asking yourself “what’s a Knyewtron”??  Knyewtrons are supporters to the KNYEW cause. Believers in the KNYEW movement!! If you see a Knyewtron slapping an old lady, handing out box cutters at your local pre-school or sanitizing a paper clip with a KNYEW lighter for a surgical procedure (many thanks to our boy Keith from HUF for sending us this delightful flick)…take a picture of them & email us at orders@knyew.com with the subject “Knyewtron Sighting”. We look forward to your emails Knyewtrons!! Until next time…Crooked signing out.

Our boy Mig-187 from Knucklehead Zoo rocking our “Script” tank during a b-boy competition at Super Cr3w’s 11th Anniversary event back in April. Besides assisting me with KNYEW’s web design & photoshop work, Mig is also our designated “Naomi Campbell” at the shop, modeling for almost all our product pics when Kenny Knyewtron isn’t available…”Sexy Brown!”

Here’s the local Las Vegas “Golden Boy”, DJ Mike Attack, reppin’ KNYEW’s “Token” tee at his weekly Wednesday night party “Snitch” at GhostBar in the Palms. Mike Attack’s known for his eclectic knowledge of music & is notorious for his party rocking electro & dubstep sets. I’ve spun with him a few times at STK for “Magnum Mondays” in the Cosmopolitan & it’s always a pleasure to spin with a fellow dj who knows his music & has a great love for the craft.

Being one of the very few local artists in Las Vegas, my boy Brian De Leon has accumulated a prominent following who, like me, just happened to stumble upon his nostalgic hip-hop portraits & illustrations at random art shows & neighborhood galleries popping up everywhere across town. He sent us this pic of him wearing our heather grey “Token” tee at an art showing in Downtown Vegas. Check his blog to see more of his work & keep an eye out for a possible “De Leon” art show at KNYEW one of these days.

Hailing from the murky swamps downsouth in Florida, our boy DJ 19Sixty is a fairly new addition to the Las Vegas Knyewtron family. In only a few months, he’s already maintained residencies at Blush at the Wynn, Bond at the Cosmopolitan, Chateau at Paris & Deuce at the Aria. Big shout to 19Sixty for rocking our black “Stranglers” tee in this pic at Vanity in the Hardrock. Check his website out for his vast collection of re-edits & remixes as well as  his weekly dj schedule.

Gotta give an additional shout to our girl Wendi Cakes who took our “Stranglers” tee  & crafted her own crop top. Be on the look out for Wendi Cakes in your favorite rappers music video. She’s already appeared in Soulja Boy’s  “Pretty Boy Swag”, the New Boyz’s “Better With The Lights On” featuring Chris Brown & Pusha T’s “Trouble On My Mind” featuring Tyler, The Creator. Get’em girl!
