MIXTAPE MONDAYS: DJ Eleven x The Kickdrums

This week’s entry for “Mixtape Mondays” is called “That’s Them” by my man DJ Eleven featuring music by the production duo, The Kickdrums. This mixtape is actually a promo mix in conjunction with today’s release of The Kickdrums’ “Something’s Gotta Give” EP on Eleven’s “11 inch Records” being sold at Turntable Lab, iTunes, Juno & Gigacrate. This mix contains some of The Kickdrums’ best material along with a few unreleased tracks & appearances by the RZA, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Joell Ortiz, Wale, Young Chris, & Peter Bjorn & John. For those of you not familiar with the Kickdrums, the 2 man team (Alex Fitts & Matt Pentilla) currently in Brooklyn but raised in Cleveland, have produced/remixed for music industry heavyweights like 50 Cent, Ben Harper, Peter Bjorn & John & Kanye West. As for DJ Eleven, he’s 1/3 of the infamous DJ trio “The Rub” & his tribute mix to Mannie Fresh entitled “50 Minutes Of Fresh” was one of the first entries we posted on “Mixtape Mondays”. He’s also one of the most respected DJ’s in the business (in the states & overseas) & a close friend to the KNYEW Crew for almost 10 years now. Eleven will be in Vegas in April, performing a few dates & we’re looking forward to seeing our Oakland x Brooklyn thoroughbred take over Sin City (we’ll let you Knyewtrons know when & where).
