This week’s entry for “Mixtape Mondays” is called “90′s R&B Mix” by NYC’s own DJ Rumor. As soon as I saw the tracklisting on this mixtape I immediately knew I was gonna like it. He has well known hits like “Freak Like Me” by Adina Howard, “Tom’s Diner” by Suzanne Vega, “Candy Rain” by Soul For Real to forgotten jams like “Where I Wanna Be” by Miss Jones & “Just Wanna Please U (Rmx)” by Mona Lisa featuring The LOX (pre-Bad Boy era). Even though I never met Rumor before, I’ve heard nothing but good things. You can catch him spinning the half-time show during the Knicks games at Madison Square Garden or at local venues like Griffin or Kastel in the Trump Soho.
