MIXTAPE MONDAYS: Mister Cee

This week’s entry for “Mixtape Mondays” is called “Mister Cee’s Heavy D Tribute” by New York’s Hot 97 DJ Mister Cee. This mix was recorded live on Mister Cee’s radio show “Throw Back At Noon” a day after we lost the hip-hop legend Heavy D. For those of you who don’t know much about Heavy D, he was the leader of Heavy D & The Boys, one of the biggest hip-hop groups from the late 80′s to mid 90′s. Not only did Heavy D put “Money Earning” Mount Vernon on the map but he made it possible for plus sized rappers like Biggie, Big Pun, & Fat Joe to be taken seriously in the rap game (sorry Fat Boys). Many thanks to the heavy hitter Mister Cee for providing us with this special mix and rest in peace to the late great Heavy D. Enjoy Knyewtrons…..Neva!
