AGENDA SHOW: Day One

Last week, me & the Knyewtron Gang flew out to sunny Long Beach, California to attend the Agenda Show, a retail convention for buyers & sellers in the streetwear & skate/surf/snow board industry to showcase upcoming collections, place orders & acquire new brands. As buyers, we usually spend the day “walking the show”, taking meetings with sellers & scouring the convention halls, looking for new brands for the shop.

The Mighty Healthy resurgence. After a brief hiatus, Mighty Healthy will be back on the racks at KNYEW this Spring 2012. An upcoming KNYEW collabo is in the works as well. Stay tuned Knyewtrons.

You never know who you’ll run into in sunny California. I bumped into my Skam Artist bredren, DJ Echo, lurking in the Agenda hallways, searching & scheming for some free gear. KNYEW’s very own DJ Neva is showing us how to pose in the typical “hand over fist” gangsta stance. Nicely done…

After being accused of “bouginess” & “spinning at soft ass clubs”, Mega (owner of Black Scale) laid down his guns & took mercy on me & my side job as a sell-out Las Vegas nightclub DJ to confirm another collab with KNYEW for 2012. It’s been over a year since our last collaboration in 2010 & the return of this SF x LV-City alliance has been long over due. Keep an eye out Knyewtrons.

Words can’t explain the bubble gum love we feel for our favorite drinking buddy & fellow Spearmint Rhino enthusiast, David Miyataki from The Hundreds. KNYEW’s head-bitch-in-charge, Jazmyn aka Mama Knyewtron, has been working closely with David on bringing in more collaboration projects & capsule collections from The Hundreds. In 2012, you can expect another collabo with KNYEW as well as exclusive deliveries like their TH x Topps x Garbage Pail Kids Collection coming very soon.

After 4 years of convention center, cafeteria style catering, we were all dreading our lunch break at the show, fearing the frozen microwave burgers & shriveled up hot dogs spinning endlessly on rotisserie rollers. In an unexpected twist of fate, we were pleased to enjoy some of Cali’s best in street food cuisine. A few of the city’s finest foodtrucks like Kogi BBQ, Nom Nom, Taco Nazo & Fatburger were parked outside the convention halls exclusively for the Agenda Show.
